Next Flamenco Holiday

   General course, Monday 19th - Friday 23rd May, 10.00 am. 90 euros
   Intermediate/Advanced course, 12.45 - 2.15 pm. 70 euros

During the May 2008 Holiday, for some serious dancing and lots of fun, we will be staying at La Palmera, a traditional apartment hotel, which is the perfect venue for us. No long walks to and from the dance studio - it's across the road.

All rooms have their own fully equipped bathroom, mini-kitchen, 15" colour television with Canal Plus,  air-conditioning, hair-dryer and telephone. In addition to the hotel's  bar and cafeteria, there are numerous shops, bars and restaurants within a short walking distance.

The town offers a frequent bus service to Malaga (bus stop outside the hotel) which has easy access by train to coastal resorts.

Where possible, flights will be booked to get you into Malaga by mid-day on Sunday May 18th. You will be taken to the hotel and after settling into your room, you will be able to meet other members of the group over lunch. 

The dance classes will run for five days, with work starting on Monday morning, with a 2 hour General Class.  This will be planned to suit all members of the course once we know levels of experience and abilities. We will study and practise technique for the first part of the class, then after a short break, work on a Solea por Bulerias choreography.

After lunch, there will be an additional 1½ hour class for those more advanced students who have at least 2 years Flamenco dancing experience. We will study the Mirabras, paying particular attention to style.

The May holiday coincides with the Alhaurin el Grande Feria - where we have performed for several years.  (check out our photo albums and You-tube videos.)  There will be plenty of opportunities to perform, so if you already have a dance prepared, remember to bring your music with you It may be possible to book personal practice time in the studio via the hotel management.
